Round trip Schlatt with a view of Säntis

The Säntisblick round trip which starts in Schlatt combines everything that makes up the Appenzeller landscape. Whether in summer or winter, the hills around Schlatt are more often than not spoiled by the sun. Furthermore, it is the perfect hike for families.

The start and finish of the hike is at the St. Josef Church in Schlatt. The route leads along the little road in the direction of Leimensteig. At the first right-handed turn, the path branches off to the left and continues downhill. Soon after the lowest point of the trail will have been reached. Now follow the narrow path along beautiful hedges up to the road. For a rest, it is worth making a detour to the Gasthaus Leimensteig (inn) (approx. 150m on the left). The route now takes you briefly along the little road toward Schlatt and then continues toward a hill. Once you reach the crest at Saul, the view opens up to the south. Now you can see the Alpstein massif and the hills and villages in front of it. Follow the little road downhill towards Schlatt until a narrow path branches off to the right across the meadow and leads you along the edge. Now you can already see the Church of Schlatt. A stone's throw away from the Church, the Gasthaus Bären (inn) offers the perfect pit stop for you.
