This family-run guest house is surrounded by woods, around 4 km from Weissbad railway station and reached by a good road. The cosy lounge and a number of romantic four-poster beds are another good reason to linger. Short walks to the Leuenfall waterfall and Ahornkapelle (chapel in the woods). Hotel served by PubliCar.

Sheltered viewing halls, viewing terraces, Säntisgipfel Panorama Restaurants, and paths to the summit are also accessible with a wheelchair.

The mountrain inn is located high above the St.Gallen Rhine Valley on the eastern ridge of the Alpstein 1'751 metres above sea level. The overwhelming view of four countries is surrounded by intact mountain flora. The cuisine is characterised by selected specialities from the region, with a special emphasis on seasonal offerings such as the rich game buffet in autumn.

The Staubern stands for innovation and a conscious approach to nature.

In the high season, the cable car runs every 20 minutes (xx:00 / xx:20 / xx:40) for groups of 3 or more. Continuous operation (every 8 minutes) if busy.

You can easily reach us in a 30-minute walk from the free Leuenfall car park at Waldgasthaus Lehmen. The short hike takes you past the Leuenfall, which plunges 34 metres into the depths, on through the enchanting deciduous forest to the picturesque Ahorn Chapel. You will be rewarded with breathtaking scenery and plenty of energy.

Our cuisine stands for joie de vivre and enjoyment; the menu includes pinsa and specialities from the grill. We love fresh, seasonal ingredients and work with the flavours of the produce. In spring and autumn, we also serve seasonal or themed 3-course menus. Our dishes are homemade and quality is our top priority. The result is a natural, locally and internationally inspired offering for connoisseurs and wine lovers.

The Gasthaus Alpenrose is situated at the end of the Schwendetal valley. The location is perfect for the nicest hikes in the Alpstein.
