Hardly any other section of the Grand Tour of Switzerland offers such eventful valley and mountain worlds: The Rhine Falls in Schaffhauserland, the seven Churfirsten in Toggenburg, Werdenberg (the smallest town in Switzerland) or the Principality of Liechtenstein, the exotic in the four-country corner. You will experience a lot of customs and traditions in the Appenzellerland and in the Heidiland you will pass the home of Heidi, Peter and the Alpöhi.

The Alpstein surprises with scenic attractions and offers many possibilities for inexperienced as well as for advanced hikers. Six cable cars make the gateway to the mountain world accessible.
Art gallery Appenzell
The Art gallery Appenzell is dedicated to the work of Carl Liner Senior and Junior. It preserves their creative legacy and encourages reflection on the art of the 20th century and the present, as well as classical and contemporary music. The magnificent 16th century brick kiln is big enough for a person to walk around in it, and the special atmosphere of the building makes it a wonderful location for events of all kinds.

Museum of Art Appenzell
Regularly changing exhibitions show aspects of the work of the artists Carl August Liner (1871 –1946) and Carl Walter Liner (1914 –1997), as well as works of art from the 20th century and the present day. The museum building was designed by the Zurich architects Annette Gigon and Mike Guyer. Admission free with Swiss Museum Pass.
