Welcome to our small, homey inn offering a cultivated atmosphere. Our house is located about 100m from the Gontenbad bus stop. The barefoot trail leads past us. You can look forward to our range of home-style cooking. We would be pleased to receive your reservation by telephone. Dinner à la carte until 7.30 pm. Rooms with shower/toilet, lift, whirlpool (34°C), steam room and E-bike rental for hotel guests.

Quiet central location near the historic Landsgemeindeplatz (main square), five-minute walk from the train station. Appenzeller culinary specialities, using fresh local farm produce and mountain herbs gathered by the hotel staff. Country-style double rooms and family rooms with 4 or 5 beds.

The Hotel Traube is a traditional Appenzeller house in the village centre. The rustic restaurant with adjoining hall, the beautiful terrace and the pretty garden under magnificent trees invite both locals and tourists to stay. Regional and seasonal products are used to conjure up home-style cooking for you - sometimes classic, sometimes newly interpreted - with refinement and modern touches.
The hotel has six individual, stylishly furnished rooms. The cosy flat on the top floor invites families and groups of up to eight people to stay overnight.
The Traube is very centrally located, only a five-minute walk from Appenzeller train station and has three private parking spaces.
 

Romantic hours are something very special in life, and this time should be enjoyed. At the Romantik-Hotel Säntis, guests can expect cuisine that has been awarded 14 Gault Millau points and the first-class service that goes with it. In addition, we offer 37 wonderfully furnished guest rooms with bathrooms, a considerable range of conference and seminar facilities as well as banquet rooms for up to 200 people.

Where tradition and design merge.

Centuries-old knitted walls and rustic strap floors bear witness to the house's eventful history. Guests were received in the Bären, in the middle of the Appenzellerland, as early as the 18th century. The completely renovated boutique hotel includes a restaurant, bar, smokers' lounge, wine cellar, seminar room, terrace, sauna oasis and 12 rooms and suites. The cosy "Appenzeller Chic", with authentic design and playful details, runs like a red thread through all hotel areas. The crackling of the fireplace, the splashing of the fountain, fine food in the glass and exquisite food on the plate: at the Bären, old friendships are cultivated and new ones are made. The cosy wellness area on the top floor has a new attraction. The wood-fired Skargards hot tub is an original Swedish outdoor leisure activity. Up to five people can reserve the hot tub or use it spontaneously on request. Only the crackling of the logs can be heard, while the smell of wood reminds oneself of the numerous campfires one had when growing up.

In the Golf Restaurant, directly in front of the idyllic Alpstein, non-golfers are also very welcome. The restaurant with its 120 seats and the terrace with 80 seats are oases of hospitality, where guests and friends are spoiled with the best the kitchen and cellar have to offer.

The Belvedere non-smoking hotel, with its 10 rooms (with shower/bath, toilet, TV), is located in a natural green setting, only a 10-minutes' walk from the train station, with a bus-stop right outside. Quiet and peaceful panoramic view, park, lawn area, children's playground, located directly next to an hiking trail. Cuisine with seasonal and Appenzell specialities, dining room (seating up to 40 persons). Guests staying 3 nights or more receive the Appenzeller Holiday Card free of charge. Historic house «zum Schwarzen Adler 1825». 

The Adlerhotel is situated at the entrance to Appenzell on the River Sitter. The Adler Suite (35 m2) and the Broger Suite (46 m2) are unique rooms and are well suited as family rooms or for a longer stay. Our guests benefit from a nice selection of free digital TV and radio channels, free internet access (WLAN and LAN) and a rich breakfast. The breakfast room is your lounge, the sun deck behind the house your oasis of well-being. You are welcome to make your own tea there during the day. The round table in the breakfast room is ideal for card and board games. 
The house is non-smoking. For stays of 3 nights or more, we will give you the Appenzell holiday card free of charge, with free travel to and from the hotel by public transport from anywhere in Switzerland if you wish.

The Alpenrose guesthouse is located at the back of the Schwendetal valley and is the starting point for the most beautiful hikes in the Alpstein.

In 2018 numerous rooms, the restaurants and the hotel lobby were renovated.
