«Rondom Stenegg»

«Quartierschlängeln», taking a stroll through the neighbourhood.

Leaving the Steinegg junction and train station behind you, walk along the pavement in the direction of Appenzell. After just a few metres turn left and past the buildings of local small businesses. You can already hear the murmur of the river Sitter, which you will reach shortly afterward. Walk upstream in the forest to reach the "Rapunzel" playground popular with families, where you can have a barbecue or picnic. Soon you will leave the little forest and cross the road at the stately and wonderfully colourful property "Sonne" - note the "Tafeen" (signboard). Crossing a gentle hillside, you reach the beautifully situated "Schlössli" inn and opposite the nearby "Appezöller Hoflädeli", the meadow path leads you to the charming Chäsmoos Chapel and up the neighbourhood road to the top row of houses. On a sneaky path between the properties you reach the next neighbourhood "Schönenbühl" and from now on follow the Quartierstrasse Street with wonderful views of the Alps downhill back to the starting point, where you must not miss the Chapel of St. Magdalena. Feel free to take a look inside.

Remarks

Tip: The "Rapunzel" playground and the nearby idyllic banks of the river Sitter.

Notice: Please follow the white signposts "Rondom Stenegg". The path can be completed in both directions.
