Royal tour of the Alpstein

This outstandingly picturesque hike through the Alpstein takes you to the most beautiful alpine panoramas in the area. There are a total of 24 mountain inns where you can enjoy a meal. Each mountain inn offers authentic regional specialities, prepared with genuinely fresh ingredients from the Appenzellerland. Many hosts also offer more exclusive dishes for those looking for a more gourmet option.

This trail is suitable not just for ambitious, high-performance athletes, but also for more leisurely walkers. All of the mountain inns offer accommodation, making it possible for you to continue your hike another day. Furthermore, you can choose where you would like to start and finish your hike and in general plan your own route. If desired you can even leave out sections or bypass them with a cable car.
