Museum of Appenzell Customs Urnäsch
A small, attractive museum with plenty of charm. In the narrow, winding rooms of the 400 year-old house with its sloping wooden floors are displays of home life, textiles and jewellery, New Year’s mummers (Silvesterchläus), alpine cattle drives, the lives of herdsmen, traditional string music and naive art. Special exhibitions can be found in the new house with its classic architecture.
